Ana María Ariza is an award-winning journalist and a photojournalist. She studied T.V. and Radio production at Miami Dade College where she was nominated for Best Final Project, earned a journalism degree from New York University (NYU), and holds two professional photography certifications from Zona Cinco in Bogotá, D.C.
Ana María specializes on documentary filmmaking and has extensive experience in multimedia storytelling, focusing in human rights, migration, forced displacement, and conflict phenomena. She produced the acclaimed documentary Caminantes: Human Stories That Cross Borders, nominated at prestigious festivals including the Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival 2022, McMinnville Short Film Festival 2023, Madrid Film Awards (MADFA) 2023, LA Latinx Film Festival 2023, and won Best Editing of a Documentary at the Madrid International Film Festival 2023.
She is proficient in both on-camera and behind-the-scenes roles, with a proven track record of collaborating with entertainment, media, and NGO clients such as Paramount Pictures, MTV, The New York Post, as well as Netflix, Discovery Channel, Directv, the US government, and the International Organization for Migration among many others.
Ariza has conducted interviews with notable figures including John Leguizamo, Benjamin Bratt, Giovanna Mezzogiorno, Catalina Sandino, Mike Newell, Scott Steindorff, Nicolas Cage, Tracy Morgan, Bill Nighy, Zach Galifianakis, Samuel Torres, Chris Botti, Leonardo Amuedo, and Eddy Herrera, among others.
